ELEVEN SPORTS has announced that it will show LIVE and EXCLUSIVE coverage of the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) in the US – adding more compelling, niche sports action targeted towards millennial fans across the country.
The agreement sees LIVE AUDL events coming to cable television for the first time in the competition’s history. During the 2017 season, ELEVEN SPORTS will air the ‘Game of the Week’ LIVE on all 18 match days, including 13 regular season games and all five play-off games.
The first broadcast will take place on Sunday, April 9 as the DC Breeze host the reigning East Division champions the Toronto Rush.
“We are very pleased to add the American Ultimate Disc League to our growing portfolio of new and exciting sports rights in the US,” said Danny Menken, Group Managing Director, ELEVEN SPORTS. “Aligned with our core strategy, the AUDL represents a fantastic opportunity for us to reach a new generation of millennial fans who are looking for fresh and exciting sports content. This is an exciting time and we’re looking forward to continuing the momentum with further announcements very soon.”
“The AUDL is really excited to have our first ever game on live cable television on April 9,” said AUDL Commissioner, Steve Gordon. “This is exciting for the league and ultimate as the sport continues to reach a larger audience. We are thrilled that we are able to leverage ELEVEN’s reach in the US to 50 million households and we’re looking forward to working with them to grow our sport and build a community of fans across the country.”
