Global Sports provider ELEVEN SPORTS has secured LIVE and EXCLUSIVE rights for the UEFA EURO 2020 qualifiers, the European Qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup and the inaugural UEFA Nations League in Belgium.
For both the UEFA EURO 2020 qualifiers and the European qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, ELEVEN SPORTS will be able to show all matches from each match day, including the play-offs and other international friendlies. Matches featuring Belgium can be aired on a delayed basis.
In addition to the LIVE match action, ELEVEN SPORTS will also show the live draw for both qualifying tournaments, and has exclusive rights to all highlight programmes, including matches featuring Belgium. ELEVEN also has rights to near live clips on social media. The UEFA EURO 2020 qualifiers are scheduled to start in March 2019 and will finish in November 2019. The play-offs will take place in March 2020. The dates for the European Qualifiers to the 2022 FIFA World Cup are still to be confirmed.
ELEVEN SPORTS has also secured LIVE and EXCLUSIVE rights to ALL matches from the inaugural UEFA Nations League, including those featuring Belgium if they reach the Nations League Finals. The new tournament is due to commence in September 2018, after the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The tournament, which has been devised to rejuvenate international football by replacing friendlies, will see the 55 European national teams divided into four leagues featuring promotion and relegation with the aim of adding an extra competitive edge.
“We are very pleased to secure live and exclusive rights to the very best international football competitions in Europe, including the new and exciting UEFA Nations League,” said Anouk Mertens, Managing Director, ELEVEN SPORTS in Belgium. “We continue to build and enrich our offering in the long term and these rights are a great addition to our other strong international rights featuring many Belgian star players in LaLiga, Serie A and Ligue 1. We are looking forward to working with UEFA to bring even more top football action to our fans and showcase the best international talent on the continent.”
“We are delighted to extend our partnership with ELEVEN SPORTS to now include Belgium” said Guy-Laurent Epstein, Marketing Director of UEFA Events SA. “ELEVEN will provide extensive exposure of the new UEFA Nations League and the European Qualifiers with Belgian football fans now being able to enjoy the best fixtures from the UEFA National Teams for the next four years.”
In addition to top football action from LaLiga, Serie A and Ligue 1, ELEVEN SPORTS also provides fans with premium LIVE content from NBA, UFC and NFL as well as other sports that are popular in the local market including Euro Hockey League, Champions League Handball, action from Premier League Darts and the World Championship of Darts and leading MMA from Cage Warriors.
